Well, classes have finished and so too has the newspaper. The staff will now start focusing on exams and class papers, then take a month off for winter break. Some of us will surely still be found in the office – a home away from home for some and just a home for others (your’s truly, perhaps).
Please visit TheMiamiHurricane.com to check out the last issue and be sure to pick up a copy of the 28-page print edition as well. This issue is full of great stories:
– News Editor Karyn Meshbane wrote an in-depth feature on the university’s Counseling Center and a news feature story about proposed changes to SAFAC;
– The sports front page features a tribute to former Hurricane safety Sean Taylor;
– Opinion finished the semester with a healthy three pages, which included a staff editorial, cartoon, two letters to the editor, Speak-Up! and four columns;
– EDGE has two noteworthy features, one about the best boutiques for the Miami heat (no, not the basketball team) and another about artist Pablo Cano.
This issue was not only the last of the semester, but also the final one for Sports Editor Stacey Arnold and EDGE Editor Bari Lieberman, who are stepping down as editors. They both will graduate in May and will continue to write for the paper. The Hurricane thanks them for their time and dedication to the paper.
